Resolved:  That the minutes of the Decision Session held on 14 May 2018 be approved and signed by the Deputy Leader as a correct record.

It was reported that there had been no registrations to speak at the session under the Council’s Public Participation Scheme.

St. Christopher House, George Cayley Drive, Clifton Moor – Application to Remove Restrictive Covenant pdf icon PDF 163 KB

This Report sets out details of an application to lift the restrictive covenant on an office site at Clifton Moor to allow a low-cost residential development.

Resolved:  That the application to remove the restrictive covenant on St. Christopher House, George Cayley Drive, for a capital sum of £21,180, be granted.

 

Reason:     To enable the provision of apartments at reasonable cost in an area of surplus accommodation.

Minutes:

The Deputy Leader considered a report which set out details of an application to lift the restrictive covenant on St Christopher House, an office site at Clifton Moor, to allow a low cost residential development.

 

The application, made by Silverdale Ltd., met the requirements of the adopted Asset Management Policy on the lifting of restrictive covenants at Clifton Moor, attached at Annex A to the report.  The office building had been vacant for some time and a scheme had been developed to create 6 one-bedroom apartments within the existing structure, as shown on Annex C.

 

In response to questions, the officer present at the meeting confirmed that:

·        The cost of removing the covenant had been calculated in accordance with a standard procedure

·        Details of the cycle and bin storage referred to in paragraph 7 of the report could be provided to the Deputy Leader.

 

Resolved:  That the application to remove the restrictive covenant on St. Christopher House, George Cayley Drive, for a capital sum of £21,180, be granted.

 

Reason:     To enable the provision of apartments at reasonable cost in an area of surplus accommodation.
