1.      Open top bus tour around the Ward.

Approximately 28 residents attended the ward committee event which travelled a route around Holgate Ward on an open top bus.

Residents spoke to councillors, Neighbourhood Management and Street Environment regarding issues with their alleyways, especially Walworth Street North, Bright Street and Kingslands.

Issues such as weed killing, dog fouling and rubbish were discussed.

A kebab shop / takeway was discussed regarding use of domestic bins for commercial use.

Other residents discussed security and burglaries and street lights on Lindsay Avenue with councillors, Street Environment and the Police.

Also overgrown trees were mentioned, overhanging and blocking light at the back of Lindsey Avenue.

Residents spoke with councillors about street lighting at the back lane of Poppleton Road.

John Coulson updated the ward team that the West Bank Park summer fair was highly successful and discussed grant applications for 2011/12.

Residents spoke with Street Environment and the Police regarding Rights of Way and a neighbouring resident spoke with Mike Hawtin regarding road maintenance on Hamilton Drive.

A resident raised issues regarding Poppleton Road Cycle Path, which have now been passed to Andy Vose CYC.

The meeting concluded at 8.00pm at St Paul’s Church, Holgate.
