Minutes:

This was an opportunity for residents to talk to their ward councillors, report any street environment or any other ward-based issues.

2.

Police

Minutes:

Insp Moreton asked residents in the surgery what their priorities were for their area.

The Police also reported that crime in Holgate has been reduced by 25% on last years figures, which equates to 180 less crimes/victims.

Residents raised the following questions;

·        Are these figures reflected in all other wards in York?

·        Have you found out who is pinching the milk in the Poppleton Road area?

·        Are all Petty crimes being recorded?

·        There are still speeding cars around Leeman Road on Saturday nights.

3.

York Northwest

Minutes:

Sue Houghton and Ann Ward from the York Northwest Project Team presented aerial views of the land in question for development and explained the Area Action Plan and how it works.

Residents were given the background to the sites and the timescale of the consultation.  Formal consultation starts on 5th November.

Residents had the opportunity to raise questions;

·        Will this include the tarmac site on Ouseacres?

·        Is there any provision for people who actually work on the site?

·        Will the relief railway lines stay?

The Development is hoping to achieve a number of things;

·        Try and create local jobs for local people

·        There is a possibility that the Railway Museum will want to develop the museum further.

·        We would like to provide a transport corridor from the ring road to the city centre

·        Access to the site is critical and priority.

At the moment a development package is being put together to appoint a developer.

All answers, thoughts and views will be fed in to the process.

4.
