Outside body

Purpose:

A registered charity.  The LGiU is an award winning think tank. Its mission is to strengthen local democracy to put citizens in control of their own lives, communities and local services. It works with local councils and other public service providers, along with a wider network of public, private and voluntary sector organisations.

It develops new thinking and helps spread best practice through a range of policy briefings, projects, learning networks, events, learning and development activities.

Membership:

The representative is a member of the members’ assembly.

Meetings:

Meetings are held once a year.
