Consultation process

s the proposed application is made by Heworth Without Parish Council and the application area is the parish boundary, Section 5A of the Regulations applies and no public consultation exercise on the application is necessary.

However, Section 7 (Publicising a designation of a neighbourhood area etc) of the Neighbourhood Planning (General) Regulations 2012 (as amended) states that as soon as possible after approving the designation of a neighbourhood area, a local planning authority must publish the following on their website and in such other manner as they consider is likely to bring the designation to the attention of people who live, work or carry on business in the neighbourhood area—
(a) the name of the neighbourhood area;
(b) a map which identifies the area; and
(c) the name of the relevant body who applied for the designation.
In order to ensure compliance with Section 7, we intend to publicise the designation by placing copies of the designation documentation in applicable local libraries, CYC business / resident newsletters, noticeboards in Heworth Without Parish, emails to adjacent parishes, members and senior officers.
Further consultation throughout the Neighbourhood Plan process will be undertaken in accordance with our approved Statement of Community Involvement and any agreed consultation strategies.
