Housing - Domestic Abuse, Resident & Tenant Policy
Purpose of Report: The report will present, the Domestic Abuse resident and tenant policy 2024. The policy is designed to reduce the risk and consequences of domestic abuse and outlines how City of York Council Housing service, will respond to domestic abuse when it affects our residents, tenants, and leaseholders.
The Executive Member will be asked to: Approve the Domestic Abuse Resident and Tenant Policy 2024.

Consultation process
The proposed policy has been developed in
consultation with a range of organisations and individuals,
including those working with lived experience of domestic abuse as
well as staff and organisations involved in delivering services to
this community, both in York and elsewhere. The majority of those
involved in the consultation were a part of an operational DAHA
task and finish group, collaboratively working to achieve DAHA.
