Local Cycling and Walking Infrastructure Plan
This report will present the Local Cycling and
Walking Infrastructure Plan alongside a background report which
details the evidence and process used to identify future
improvement zones for walking, wheeling and wheelchair use
alongside an aspirational cycle network for York. The Executive
will be asked to:
i) Approve the Local Walking and Cycling Infrastructure Plan
(LCWIP) for the City of York Council area.
ii) Approve supporting documents of the LCWIP.

Consultation process
An extensive consultation and engagement
exercise “Our Big Transport Conversation” took place
between November 2023 and February 2024. The information from this
consultation has informed the LCWIP. A steering group, comprising
representatives of different organisations and political parties
has been involved in the development of the LCWIP. Consultees: All
York, including a questionnaire filled in by over 1,000
people.
