Community Infrastructure Levy
Purpose of Report: Since 2010, authorities in England and Wales
have also been empowered to establish a Community Infrastructure
Levy (CIL) to help pay for infrastructure to support development
such as schools, green infrastructure and sustainable transport.
This report will seek agreement to move forward with introduce a
CIL in York to support the implementation of the Local Plan. It
will help ensure infrastructure to support development envisaged is
delivered in the right time and in the right place.
The Executive will be asked to agree to proceed with the
preparation and implementation of a community infrastructure
levy.
