Air Quality – Annual Status Report

Purpose of Report: The report details the latest air quality monitoring results for the city and progress on delivering the measures in York’s third Air Quality Action Plan (AQAP3) to deliver further improvements.

The Executive Member will be asked to note the contents of the report, including the improvements in air quality observed in 2020, the continuing trend in air quality in York and proposals to update the current AQAP to support and complement other key CYC strategies.

Consultation process

An Annual Air Quality Status Report needs to be prepared by local authorities every year and filed electronically using DEFRA’s online LAQM Portal. No specific consultation outside CYC has been undertaken specifically for the purposes of compiling the Annual Status Report. DEFRA appraise the report and provide written feedback to CYC on the contents.
