Inclusion Review – Internal capital works at Applefields Special School & Danesgate PRU
Purpose of Report: To approve the budget for capital works at two
schools to reconfigure internal spaces to support the outcomes of
the inclusion review. Applefields
Special School and Danesgate PRU. Works
to be carried out at different times over summer 2021, 2022 and
potentially 2023.
The Executive are asked to approve the allocation of Basic Need
Capital Funding in the Children, Education and Communities Capital
Programme to carry out re-configuration of teaching space and
provide additional office accommodation in two phases at
Applefields School.
Approve the allocation of Basic Need Capital Funding in the
Children, Education and Communities Capital Programme to carry out
reorganisation and remodelling of accommodation at Danesgate PRU in a number of phases. This work will
also involve the development and implementation of a transport plan
for the site to reduce pressures through developing safe walking
cycling access and reducing the number of vehicles using the
site.
