Covid Recovery Skills Strategy and communication plan
Purpose of report: To provide details about the development and
implementation of a city skills strategy. The report will focus on
the emerging and short term actions needed to respond to the
immediate economic impact of Covid-19 on employment. The report
will also outline the medium and long term strategy to support
future skills to support economic development. The report will
describe the proposed governance structure for the city skills
strategy.
The Executive Member will be asked to adopt and support the actions
outlined in the Covid Recovery Strategy
and communications plan. The Executive member will be asked to
support and approve the governance structure for the city skills
strategy.

A series of 12 sector roundtable meetings have taken place to
understand the challenges and opportunities that Covid19 has
created for key employment sectors in the city.
The Higher York Board has been consulted about the development of
the Covid Recovery Skills Strategy.
