Purpose of report: To update Members on the proposal to develop new
affordable housing on two sites on Council-owned garage court land
in York, at Newbury Avenue and Chaloners Road.
Executive will be asked to: Approve the
proposal to build new bungalows at Newbury Avenue and new houses at
Chaloners Road, as set out and
described in the report.

Consultation process: If approved by
Executive there will be a planning application submission for each
of the proposals, together with local consultation through the Ward
Committee. The two planning applications will incorporate a minimum
of 3 weeks consultation with local residents as well as statutory
consultation with groups such as the Highways Authority, Police and
environmental groups.

Residents neighbouring the two proposed sites, at Newbury Avenue
and Chaloners Road; All statutory
consultees, as standard in planning
submissions to City of York Council.
