To agree the sale of the former older persons’ home site on Fordlands Road, Fulford to a purchaser who will develop a residential and nursing care home on the site, as part of the Older Persons’ Accommodation Programme.


The Executive are asked to consider the accepting the offer for the sale of the site.

The Older Persons’ Accommodation Programme has been the subject to extensive public and stakeholder engagement concerning the use of current council-run care homes and the need and wish to encourage the building of new care homes in the city. As part of this, independent care providers are regularly engaged to seek interest in the provision of new care accommodation in York.
