Joseph Rowntree Secondary School - Zebra Crossing and Off-road Cycle Links

Purpose of the Report: Walking and cycling facilities in the vicinity of Joseph Rowntree Secondary School have been reviewed, and pupils who live south of the school were found to have fewer facilities directly on their route to school. This report puts forward a highway improvement scheme to provide a raised zebra crossing on the pedestrian desire line, and to give less confident cyclists an off-road alternative on this section of busy narrow road. It also summarises the consultation with interested parties in order to recommend a way forward.

The Cabinet Member will be asked to approve the implementation of the proposals, and approve the advertising of the extension to the existing 20mph speed limit order.
