Proposals on the introduction of new two tiered charging arrangements for Warden Call

Purpose of Report: To provide details of the consultation with customers and stakeholders on the proposals to introduce tiered charging for the Warden Call service together with recommendations.


The Cabinet Member will be asked to consider the options presented following consultation to introduce a tiered charging system and determine the preferred option for charges for the Warden Call service.

 

The decision will be taken at a public Cabinet Member Decision Session to be held on 19 June 2013. This report was delayed to a public meeting to take place on  27 June 2013 to allow a variety of appropriate consultation methods to be set up and a longer period of time for the consultation with customers. This decision will now be taken at a public Decision Session on 18 July 2013, to allow time to fully consider the responses to the consultation.

Consultation process

The consultation involves letters with an explanation of the proposals being sent to all Warden Call customers with an opportunity to respond using a variety of methods. In these communications with customers we seek their views on all the proposals and if they were introduced, how these may affect their use of the service.
Consultation with potential future users of the service or relatives of users are being undertaken with relevant organisations (eg YOPA, AGE UK York etc) and via a variety of communication methods.
