Review and restructure of Children’s Centres, Early Years and Extended Services
Purpose of Report: The paper sets the context
of the restructure, gives the rationale on which the draft
proposals are based, the outcomes which the restructure is
anticipated to achieve and the new staffing structure to deliver
the priorities and the needs of the service. The Cabinet Member is
asked to approve the proposals for the new staffing
structure.

Consultation process
The consultation process involved colleagues
from the services involved, other ACE services and external
partners and stakeholders, also union represenatives. Consultation
has taken the form of meetings, papers, draft job descriptions and
structures. There is a dedicated confidential email address for
feedback. A consultation paper was emailed to all groups with
specific and more general questions
Consultation with children’s Centres staff started in January
2011 with the Early Years service following and then the Extended
services staff by Easter 2011.
