Petition to Council on Support for Vulnerable People
Purpose of Report: At Full Council on 7 April, members considered a petition in respect of support for vulnerable people, which had been submitted to the Budget Council meeting on 24 February 2011 and as an e-petition, together with a background report from the Director of Adults, Children and Education. The petition had been signed by more than 1000 people and had therefore been taken to Council for debate, in accordance with the agreed process. Following debate it was agreed that the petition be referred to the Cabinet to determine any appropriate action.
The Cabinet Member is asked to decide on the appropriate course of action.

opportunity for full debate on the issues arising from the
petition. The decision making budget process on setting the council
budget created considerable consultation opportunities the details
