Purpose of report: This report will update the Executive Member on the plans to introduce new arrangements for responding to enquiries and concerns about children and young people who may be vulnerable or at risk.

The Executive Member is asked to: Note progress towards the full implementation of the new service arrangements which will go live in April 2011.

Consultation process

These new arrangements are subject to ongoing consultation. They are part of a Children's Services More for York blueprint. Presentations about these developments have been made in a variety of other fora, including the City of York Safeguarding Children Board and the Integrated Working Implementation Group. Formal consultations are taking place with those staff whose substantive posts will be affected by the new organisational arrangements.

Consultees

Those consulted include colleagues from across the children's workforce in York including Head Teachers, Health Professionals, Police and those directly employed by the Council.
