Liberating the NHS
Purpose of report: To advise Executive of the proposals within the
White Paper Liberating the NHS, consider any response to the
consultations on the proposals, including any opportunity for York
to be an Early Adopter. The proposals could impact on Local
Authority responsibilities in respect of health and well being, and
governance arrangements for overview and scrutiny of health issues.
It could offer opportunities for new shared commissioning
arrangements. Consultation deadline is 11 October 2010.
Implementation of NHS changes is planned for 2012-13

the Council to the Government’s Consultations
