Affordable Housing Initiatives

Purpose of report: To request that the Council's Executive note and endorse the current review of affordable housing in York through the LDF and proposed housing initiatives. It reports the findings of discussions with house builders and other housing stakeholders in York and describes initiatives to provide affordable housing.

Members are asked to: To note the outcomes of Developer Meetings and the Affordable Housing Workshop, held 2008. To endorse that the LDF is the appropriate tool to revise affordable housing planning policy; and to instruct Officers to use the comments received to inform the Preferred Options Policy. To support the housing initiatives proposed to ensure affordable housing in York is maximised.
