Issue details
20 mph Speed Limits
Purpose of report: This report is in two
parts. It is written to provide members with an update in relation
to the council decision (taken on 14th July) to implement a 20mph
trial site in the Fishergate area and in response to a petition for
York to become a 20mph city. The petition requests that traffic
regulation orders are made for all residential streets in York to
become 20mph streets, without the addition of traffic calming
measures. The report will refer to the Portsmouth citywide scheme
and a previous EMAP report (14 July) that considered the options
and implementations for implementing 20mph citywide speed
limits.
Members are asked to: note the plans for implementing the
Fishergate trial and approve the recommendations in relation to the
petition request.
