Former Tenant Arrears: Write off of Debts over £2,000
Purpose of report: Currently unrecoverable
former tenant arrears over £2000 will be written off in line
with financial management principles and minimising the impact of
bad debt on the HRA.
Members are asked to: Agree to the write off of currently
unrecoverable former tenant debts over £2000 in the knowledge
that these will be reinstated should the customer be traced or
contact Housing Services. This is in line with audit
recommendations and minimises the impact of bad debt on the Housing
Revenue Account.
