Mental Health Amendment Act 2007 & Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards
Purpose of report: The Governance and delivery
of the Local Authority responsibilities under the Mental Health Act
1983 and the Mental Capacity Act 2005 as amended by the Mental
Health Act 2007. The key amendments are to be introduced between
3.11.08 and 31.3.09. The effects may be seen immediately as each
amendment is introduced.
Members are asked to: To approve the approval being taken to
implement the Act.
