2025/26 Ward Budget City Wide Fund Grant Awards

30/12/2025 - 2025/26 Ward Budget City Wide Fund Grant Awards

A Ward Budget City Wide Fund of £100,000 was established in 2023 to support organisations working across the whole city or in multiple ward areas. This fund compliments the ward funding allocated at individual ward level and offers the opportunity for groups and organisations working across the city to apply once to a central fund rather than apply to individual wards.
In total 25 applications were received for the recent round of funding. The total amount applied for was £179,425. £150,000 is the total funding available through this round and the recommendations are to award £78,493 across a total of 12 projects. As well as the listed approved grant awards, decisions on a number of applications were deferred pending additional information and review as to the need and potential impact of the projects. On conclusion of further review the panel will reconsider these applications as well as whether any of the approved applications can be expanded across the city and/or for more than one year. Two applications were considered more suited to individual ward funding and were referred to the relevant wards, and five applications were not successful.

The option not to approve is rejected as this funding is being directed to support delivery of activity contributing to the 4 funding priorities of:
• Health and wellbeing
• Tackling the cost-of-living crisis
• Environment and Climate Emergency
• Equality of opportunity
