To approve and sign the minutes
of the meeting held on Minutes: RESOLVED: That the minutes of the last meeting of the Decision Session of the Executive Leader, held on 7 September 2010 be approved and signed by the Executive Leader as a correct record. |

Government Consultation on the Future Direction of Skills Policy PDF 59 KB This report presents a recommended response to the Government’s consultation “Skills for Sustainable growth”, issued by the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills in July this year and asks the Executive Leader to endorse the response. RESOLVED:That the recommended response to the Government’s consultation on “Skill’s for Sustainable Growth” be endorsed.
Reason: To support the learning city and thriving city strategic objectives as set out in the Sustainable Community Strategy. Minutes: The Executive Leader considered a report that presented the Council’s response to the Government’s consultation “Skills for Sustainable Growth”.
Officers gave an update and presented an updated consultation response which included comments from the14-19 Manager, Learning City Partnerships, the Executive Leader and Cllr Runciman. The updated response has been attached to the agenda and the updates can be found in paragraphs 5, 8, 9, 11, 12, 28 and 29.
RESOLVED:That the recommended response to the Government’s consultation on “Skill’s for Sustainable Growth” be endorsed.
