This was an opportunity for local residents to:

 

·        Meet with their ward councillors.

·        Report any street environment issues in the ward

·        Give their views on any potential buildings that could be used for the MySpace project

·        Find out the latest on the City Centre Action Plan

·        Give their views on the development of the Micklegate Ward Neighbourhood Action Plan

·        Give their views on a scheme to improve Bishopthorpe Road car park and surrounding area

·        Find out the latest on bringing St Clements Hall back into community use

·        Find out how to get involved in Age Concern’s befriending service

·        Find out how to get involved in conservation volunteering through BTCV

·        Find out how to get involved in volunteering projects at St Nicholas Fields and at other nature reserves around the city

·        Find out more about home composting

·        Report any policing issues in the ward

·        Have their bicycles security tagged by the police

·        Claim a free personal alarm

·        Claim a free property marking kit

·        Claim a free Jute shopping bag to reduce reliance on plastic bags

·        Claim a free energy efficient light bulb to reduce electricity bills and reduce CO2 emissions

·        Claim a free Bokashi kitchen composter

·        Find out about recycling initiatives available to residents of the ward

·        Find out about Clementhorpe Community Association

·        Find out about the work of Micklegate Planning Panel

·        Find out what is happening at Rowntree Park over the summer

·        Take part in cricket, football and races

·        Take part in a kids drawing competition

·        Bounce on the bouncy castle

 

Approximately 350 residents attended the event.

 

·        12 bicycles were security tagged

·        34 personal alarms were given away

·        20 property marking kits were given away

·        30 jute bags were given away

·        30 energy efficient light bulbs were given away

·        27 Bokashi Kitchen composters were given away
