Minutes:
Westfield ward committee hosted an Older
People’s Health Afternoon. Residents were able to:
- Speak directly to their local
councillors and representatives from the Neighbourhood Management
Unit.
- Speak to their local Safer
Neighbourhood team and give their opinion on what the policing
priorities should be for the area.
- Learn about Roman Cookery through
demonstrations by the Yorkshire Museum Trust.
- Exchange their old slippers for a
new pair.
- Find out more about Warden Call and
Telecare Services.
- Get advice on Fire Safety.
- Find out more about simple exercises
from ‘Steady as you go’
- Get their blood pressure and ears
checked.
- Get advice from a podiatrist.
- Obtain advice on healthy eating,
diabetes and diets.
- Check their benefits
entitlement.
- Talk to OCAY, Alzheimer’s
Society, Age Concern and the Older People’s Assembly.
