Ward Surgery

Minutes:

This was an opportunity for residents to look around the revamped library and to be familiar with the facilities available.

Residents were able to receive the Yorkcard, learn how to use the internet, learn about various adult education courses that will be available at the library from September.

There was a 3D Visual presentation and display on the plans for the new swimming pool at York High School and also progress on the development of the school.

Residents were able to talk to their ward councillors and the  Neighbourhood Policing Team, also to report any street environment or other ward-based issues.

Ward Schemes List 08/09

Minutes:

Residents were asked for any comments or objections to the Priority schemes list for the forthcoming 08/09 ward committee budget.

No objections or comments raised.

·        Can the snicket leading in to the Reeves be locked or gated off?

o       If residents want to do a petition then the ward committee can look at gating it on an evening.

 

·        Can the lighting be looked at in Chapel Terrace

 

·        There is persistent dog fouling in Windsor Garth towards Hob Moor.  Can we have more patrols by the dog warden and more signs up.

o       Cllrs will ask dog wardens to do a purge of the area.

 

·        The footpath needs repairing in Newbury Avenue as the bin lorry is damaging it.

 

·        The anti social behaviour at Acomb Green needs to be monitored more often, especially around the area of the Knavesmire Nursing Home.

o       Group Response are checking this twice a night

 

·        The flats being built on James the Deacon old site look too bright, can we make the future buildings in the area more friendly.

 

·        Still problems with parking in Grange Lane with the school.  Some residents cannot get out of their drives.

o       Will ask PCSO’s and Wardens to monitor

 

·        Cars parked on the verges on Tudor Road, even a CYC van.
