Young People's five-a-side football tournament

Young People's five-a-side football tournament – 4.00pm

Come along and watch teams from local primary schools take part, who will win?

Minutes:

This was an opportunity for football teams from four local primary schools to compete in a football tournament.  Heworth 1st Scout Group attended to show their new mess tent, funded by the ward committee.

 

There were free refreshments available, including fresh fruit and drinks provided by the neighbourhood management team.

 

The young people were able to take part in a consultation, giving their views about what Heworth Ward Committee can do in the future to improve services available for them in the area.

 

Approximately 70 residents attended the event.

Minutes:

There was an opportunity for residents to speak to:

·        Their local councillors

·        Their Safer Neighbourhood Team

·        Their Street Environment Officer

·              and find out about healthy eating from City of York Council’s Food Safety Team

Prizes - York City FC

Prizes are up for grabs from York City Football Club – See 1st Heworth Scout Group new mess tent!

Minutes:

Prizes supplied by York City in the Community were awarded to the teams taking part.

 

All teams were given tickets to attend a match and the winning team, Hempland Primary, were presented with a signed football.

4.

Planning Panel Election

Find out about the work of the planning panel and elect the panel for 2010-11

Minutes:

Representatives of the planning panel were in attendance to talk to residents.

Due to a delay in the football, representatives had to leave before a formal election could take place.

All current memberw of the planning panel wished to continue in their role and this was agreed by Councillors and residents present.
