An opportunity to talk to your local ward councillors, your Street Environment Officer and your Safer Neighbourhood Team. 

Heworth Ward Committee hosted an informal surgery style meeting which focussed mainly on the theme of volunteering. Residents were able to:

·        Speak directly to their local councillors.

·        Contribute towards the ward committees’ consultation for the ward Neighbourhood Charter and make local scheme suggestions.

·        Sign up for involvement in ward committee projects taking place at South Beck, Glen Gardens, Glen Allotments and along the River Foss.

·        Speak to local PCSOs and find out about the It’s Up 2U volunteering project for young people.

·        Find out about the work of the Heworth Planning Panel.

·        Find out about York’s Yorkshire in Bloom competition application and sign up to become involved in next year’s competition.

·        Find out about volunteering opportunities available for young people via York Community & Voluntary Services.

·        Give their views on the Tang Hall Asset Management Plan

·        Find out, and sign up for, Age Concerns’ befriending service.

·        Find out about work taking place at Hempland Allotments

·        Find out about reading projects taking place over the summer via York Library Services.

·        Find out the latest developments regarding the Discus Bungalows Regeneration Project.
