Freedom of the City
Councillor Williams will move the following motion:
“That pursuant to its powers under Section 249(1) of the Local Government Act 1972, the Council do confer the Freedom of Entry to the City of York upon the:
Queen’s Gurkha Signals Regiment.”
Councillor Steward will second the motion.
The motion will be put
Minutes: The Lord Mayor declared the object of the meeting, under Section 249 of the Local Government Act 1972, which was to confer the Freedom of the City upon the Queen’s Gurkha Signals Regiment.
It was then moved by Cllr Williams and seconded by Cllr Steward:
“That, pursuant to its powers under Section 249(i) of the Local Government Act 1972, the Council do confer the Freedom of the City of York upon:
TheQueen’s Gurkha Signals Regiment
in formal recognition of the eminent service that they have rendered to the City.”
The motion was then put to the vote and declared CARRIED unanimously and it was
RESOLVED: That the above notice of motion be approved.1
