To appoint a Member to Chair the meeting.

Resolved:  That Councillor Jackson be appointed to Chair the meeting.

To consider excluding the public and press from the meeting during consideration of agenda items 5, 6 and 7 on the grounds that they contain information relating to an individual and which is likely to reveal the identity of an individual. This information is classed as exempt under Paragraphs 1 & 2 of Schedule 12A to Section 100A of the Local Government Act 1972, as amended by the Local Government (Access to information) (Variation) Order 2006.

Home to School Transport Appeal

To consider an appeal for assistance with home to school transport to Joseph Rowntree School.

Members considered an appeal from a parent regarding the Local Authority’s decision not to provide free home to school transport to Joseph Rowntree School.

 

Resolved:  That the appeal not be upheld but that, should the

parent so wish, an Education Officer would advise them in their efforts to put in place safe travel arrangements.

 

Reason:     There are no exceptional circumstances in this case to deviate from normal policy.

To consider an appeal for assistance with home to school transport to Archbishop Holgate’s CE School.

Members considered an appeal from a parent regarding the Local Authority’s decision not to provide free home to school transport to Archbishop Holgate’s CE School.

 

Resolved:  That the appeal not be upheld.

 

Reason:     There are no exceptional circumstances in this case to deviate from normal policy.

Resolved:  That the appeal not be upheld.

 

Reason:     The parent’s circumstances had changed since the appeal for assistance with home to school transport had initially been granted for a year, and there were now no exceptional circumstances in this case to deviate from normal policy.
