The Executive Member considered a report that sought his approval for a three year funding agreement to 31 March 2021 with York CVS and a one year agreement to 31 March 2019 with York City of Human Rights.

The Assistant Director of Communities, Culture & Public Realm was in attendance to present the report.  He confirmed the funding proposed to York CVS was £48,000 over a three year partnership agreement and would be used to develop strategic and operation collaborations across the city, to:

·        support the voluntary sector to survive and thrive;

·        represent  the sector and provide a voice;

·        work with the council to develop resilient communities.

The Executive Member was informed that the service level agreement with York City of Human Rights would be administered by York CVS.  It was also noted that the proposed annual grant of £10,000 was to support Community Voices, to recognise that communities in York were changing and growing and to embrace this diversity to bring people together and create opportunities for them to be heard.

The Executive Member welcomed the quarterly reviews and annual reports from York CVS and he thanked Cllr Keith Aspden for developing the York City of Human Rights initiative.

Resolved:  That the funding set out in paragraph 4 of the report and the associated service level agreements set out in the annexes, be approved.

Reason: To further the objective of ensuring that all York’s residents live and thrive in a city which allows them to contribute fully to their communities and neighbourhoods.
