This report asks the Cabinet Member to consider a 65 signature petition representing a large proportion of the properties in Peter Hill Drive and Court requesting the implementation of a road closure to cut excessive speeding.

 

Decision:

Resolved:           That the Cabinet Member:

 

(i)           Noted the request to implement a road closure to cut excessive speeding in Peter Hill Drive and Court but that no action is taken at this point.

 

(ii)          Asked Officers to revisit the request in 12 months time.

 

Reason:              A 20mph scheme is due to be put in place very shortly which aims to lead to a reduction in vehicle speeds therefore the Cabinet Member was asked to not take any action at this time.

Minutes:

The Cabinet Member considered a report which presented a response to a 65 signature petition representing a large proportion of properties in Peter Hill Drive and Court requesting the implementation of a road closure to cut excessive speeding.

 

The Cabinet Member stated that he was happy to approve the Officer’s recommendation as long as it was revisited by Officers in a year’s time.
