This report advises the Executive Leader of the applications received for financial support from City Strategy’s voluntary sector funding budget for 2010/2011.

RESOLVED: That the Executive Leader agrees to extend existing funding approvals for the voluntary sector funding programme for a further year, subject to budget approval.

Reason:          To provide continuity until a clearer funding and commissioning strategy for the authority has been produced.

The Executive Member considered a report that advised him of the applications received for financial support from City Strategy’s voluntary sector funding budget for 2010/2011.

Officers informed the Executive Member that the three-year funding agreements with York Citizens Advice Bureau, York Council for Voluntary Service, York Racial Equality Network and the Welfare Benefits Unit would end in March 2010 and that current funding agreements consume a large proportion of the total core funding. Officers stated that agreeing in principle to a one year extension to existing approvals would enable the commissioning work undertaken to be considered as part of the More for York procurement review.
