people with lived experience, carers and families of people with
dementia to understand the current environment and the ambition for
Dementia support in the future.
A draft Strategy is currently under consultation across system
partners, and will be presented to the Health and Adult Social Care
Policy and Scrutiny Committee on 5 July 2022.
This report will bring a final Dementia Strategy to Executive for
consideration.
Members are asked to sign off on the implementation of a 5 year
Dementia Strategy for the City.
Decision:
Resolved: That the draft Strategy be approved.
Reason: Having a York Dementia Strategy will clearly establish the common goals for health, social care, and community organisations in the City to deliver quality support to people with dementia and their carers. Once there is an agreed Strategy, progress can be made with a delivery plan to achieve the goals outlined, and improve the experience for the thousands of people living with dementia in our City.
