Decision details
Newborough Street: Results of the consultation on a Residents' Priority Parking Scheme
Decision Maker: Corporate Director of Economy and Place
Decision status: Implemented
Is Key decision?: No
Is subject to call in?: No
Decision:
The consultation with residents of Newborough
Street, Clifton Ward, has not realised sufficient support to take
forward a Residents' Priority Parking Scheme. We ask for a 50%
return of ballot sheets and a majority of the returns to be in
favour before we initiate an amendment to the Traffic Regulation
Order. Only 38% of ballot sheets were returned. Director agreed to
take no further action regarding a recent request (petition) for
Residents' Priority Parking in Newborough Street. Residents will be
informed by letter of the results of the consultation and the
decision taken.
Options Considered:
A - Take no further action at this time
(recommended option)
B - Undertake further consultation (this is not recommended as the
level of support is similar to that received on the petition and is
not sufficient to take forward a scheme)
Options Rejected:
Option B was rejected.
