Purpose:

Purpose of Report: To present an opportunity to increase resilience to climate change and climate risks through Climate Ready’s Targeted Adaptation Support for Councils programme (TASC).

The Executive Member for Environment is asked to 1) approve City of York Council (CYC) taking part in the project (if selected), and 2) to formally recognise operational risks and implications of climate change on services and how taking a proactive approach makes good sound business sense.

(i)           That option 1 be agreed:

·        That climate resilience makes good business sense and CYC take advantage of the TASC support (if selected) to ensure CYC is a resilient council to climate change and climate risks.

 

(ii)          That an update report be received in Spring 2016.
