Purpose:
Purpose of Report: The Council has received 3
requests to place buildings on the List of Assets of Community
Value.
The Cabinet Member is asked to decide whether the requests meet the
criteria set out by Government to place them on the statutory lis
and give community groups rights to place a bid should the
properties be sold.
Decision:
Resolved: (i) That the proposals for the implementation of a
process for the Community Right to Bid legislation, as outlined in the report, be approved.
(ii) That the Golden Ball, Bishophill be added onto the List of Community Assets.
(iii) That the Fordlands Road Elderly Persons Home not be added onto the List of Community Assets.
Reasons: (i) To ensure the Council has a process in place for
dealing with any applications and the establishment and maintenance of a list of Assets of Community Value.
(ii) To ensure the Council meets its legislative requirements under the Localism Act 2011 and promotes community access to community facilities.
