Purpose:
Purpose of report: Provides information about the current position with regard to vacancies for LA seats on governing bodies, lists current nominations for those vacancies and requests the appointment, or reappointment, of the listed nominees. The affect of making these appointments will be greater effectiveness and efficiency of school governing bodies in discharging their statutory duties. Effects will be seen immediately after appointment as nominees take up their governor roles. The Cabinet Member is asked to: Approve the school governor appointments.
As this was the only item scheduled for the September meeting and as the decision did not need to be taken urgently it has been slipped to the October meeting.
Decision:
RESOLVED: That the appointment or re-appointment of Local
Governors, as proposed in Annexes 1 and 2 of the report, be approved.
REASON: To ensure that Local Authority places on school governing bodies continue to be effectively filled.
