Purpose:

Purpose of report: The report will provide details of the Authority's response to the consultation document, due for submission on or before October 20th. This will then be considered by the Office of Fair Trading prior to making a decision whether or not to recommend extending the existing PTTS Block Exemption for a further five years. The OfT will make a recommendation to the Secretary of State before the end of 2010.

Members are asked to: Approve the detail of the Authority's response.

RESOLVED:             That the Executive Member approves Annex B as the City of York Council’s response to the Office of Fair Trading document ‘Public Transport Ticketing Schemes Block Exemption Review’.

 

REASON:                  To ensure that the views of the City of York Council are considered by the OFT in preparing their recommendations to the Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills to extend the duration of the Public Transport Ticketing Schemes Block Exemption (the PTTS Block Exemption) for a further five years beyond the current date of expiry.
