Purpose:
Purpose of report: To advise Members on an
interim position with the feasibility study into the viability of
alternative sites for the Beckfield Lane Household Waste
Site.
Members are asked to: Consider the purchase of a field which has
come on the market, to secure it for future use if required, as it
is one of the two sites being considered for an alternative
location for the Beckfield Lane Household Waste Site.
Decision:
RECOMMENDED:That Council approve the release of funding to purchase the field to the east of Newgate Bridge, as illustrated in Annex B to the report, subject to the land being available on the market.
REASON: In order to provide a suitable location for a replacement Household Waste Recycling Centre at Harewood Whin.
