Decision:
There is a statutory duty to monitor the
Council’s development plan and to publish an annual
monitoring on at least a yearly basis. We monitor development plans
to:
• track changes and trends which may develop over time
• check whether policies and plans are effective and achieving
their aims
• understand wider social, environmental and economic issues
affecting the key drivers of spatial change
These statistics also inform the council’s corporate
performance targets and government returns.
As part of this duty, the Strategic Planning Policy team monitor
and publish bi-annual data on housing statistics. Annex 1 presents
information for the half yearly monitoring year 1 April 2025 to 31
September 2026 (Quarter 2). Previous publications are available via
our Development Plan Monitoring webpage.
