Purpose of the Report: To update the Executive Member on progress on the Economic Strategy and propose a process to support its further development and implementation in a way which responds to the climate emergency and takes an open and inclusive approach to its development.

The Executive Member will be asked to agree to the establishment of a York Economic Partnership and endorse a process to enable residents and communities to help shape the strategy.

Resolved: That;

                             i.        The broad outline of the new Economic Strategy, as set in the report be noted;

                            ii.        The establishment of a York Economic Partnership and a York Peoples’ Panel consultation, as set out in the report, be approved.  

Reason:     To support inclusive economic growth in York.
