Purpose:

Purpose of Report: This report concerns the additional £150k Pride in York Funding agreed in the budget process. It proposes:
• An approach to the use of the £50k element allocated to fund community and voluntary sector organisations who can support wards with community led environmental and gardening type projects
• Support that can be given to wards to help them use the £100k element devolved to them effectively .

The Executive Member for Economic Development and Community Engagement (Deputy Leader) is asked to agree the approach in consultation with the Executive Member for Culture, Leisure & Tourism and the Executive Member for Environment.

Decision:

Resolved: That;

 

(i)           That the allocation of £100k funding to wards as set out in Annex 1 be agreed.

 

(ii)          That the core standards set out in Paragraph 7 of the Officer’s report be agreed.

 

(iii)        That the funding of £50k be used on a city wide basis from a combination of Paragraph 13 a) and b) of the Officer’s report.

 

Reason: To support community initiatives to improve York’s parks and open spaces.
