Purpose:
Purpose of report: To
respond to a petition received from Cllr Alexander, on behalf of
local residents, regarding a play area at Beckett Street, behind
Kirkdale Road. To inform members of the circumstances leading up to
the petition, of the action taken to alleviate the concerns of
residents and to seek instruction on further action if considered
necessary. The outcome of the decision would affect the residents
of Kirkdale Road and depending on the decision the timescale would
be dependant on the consent of the landowner and the availability
of funding to carry out remedial works.
Members are asked to: Note the circumstances leading to the
petition and to consider a number of options.
Decision:
RESOLVED: That the Executive Member approves Option A to undertake planting, as approved by the management company, at the start of the planting season to alleviate the concerns of residents.
REASON: To ensure that in addition to the new, higher fencing recently installed that appropriate screen planting is introduced to reduce the impact of the use of the play area and equipment upon residents of Kirkdale Road.
