Purpose:

Purpose of report:To consider a petition from the residents of the Leeman Road which calls upon the Council to permanently remove Back Park (aka Victoria Park) from the list of leisure land under threat of sale, in order to ensure that the land which was given by the Rowntree Family to enjoy as an amenity leisure site, will remain as such. Members are asked to:respond to the petition and recommend action to be taken by the Corporate Landlord and Corporate Asset Management Group.

Decision:

RESOLVED: (i)         That the receipt of the petition, and the status of the land at issue, be noted.

 

                        (ii)        That Officers be asked to undertake an area asset management review in the Leeman Road area.

 

REASON:      To ensure that the communities assets in this area are optimised and the highest quality of public provision achieved.
