Purpose:

Purpose of report: To advise members of the outcome of officer assessments of the speeding issues raised in previous reviews, to report new speed issues raised during the last 6 months and to give an update of the use of Vehicle Activated signs

Members are asked to note the outcome of the officer assessments and consider recommendations on possible actions to tackle speed related problems in high priority locations.

That the Executive Member for City Strategy be advised to note the outcome of the speeding assessments carried out by Officers, and give in principle support to an appropriate funding allocation being made within the 2008/09 Transport Capital Programme for speed management proposals to enable the proposals set out in Annex B to be progressed.

RESOLVED :That the advice of the Advisory Panel be accepted and endorsed.

 

REASON :                 To enable funding to be allocated appropriately.
