Is subject to call in?: No
Purpose of Report: to set out current issues around use of the 68 Centre following relocation of its major user.
The Executive Member will be asked to commence an immediate consultation on future uses of the building and site and note a potential meanwhile use.
While we aim for all items to go onto the plan 28 days prior to the meeting it will be considered at, in this instance this was not the case due to COVID-19, an urgent requirement to support the delivery of improvements to Council houses necessitates a decision to bring forward the consultation on the future of the 68 Centre and in order to allow this meanwhile use.
i. Approved the proposed public consultation as set out in the report to begin with an immediate start;
ii. Noted the short term use the 68 Centre by Housing Services as a compound to support a scheme to renovate local Council houses.
Reason: To ensure local residents influence the future use of the 68 centre and site.
