Purpose:

Purpose of Report: To seek the Cabinet Member’s approval for the City of York Council co-ordinated schemes and admission policies for the 2016/17 school year. It also seeks approval of the proposed individual school planned admission numbers for the academic year beginning in September 2016. The report follows a period of consultation from December 2014 to February 2015.

The Cabinet Member is asked to approve the admission arrangements (admissions policies and planned admission numbers) for all schools for whom the local authority is the admissions authority, for entry into school in September 2016.

 

This report will be considered at a public Cabinet Member Decision Session on 18 March.

Decision:

Resolved:  (i)      That the proposed individual school planned

admission numbers for the academic year beginning in September 2016, as set out in Annex A of the report, be approved.

 

(ii)      That the coordinated schemes and admissions

policies for all City of York Council schools for the 2016/17 school year, as set out in Annexes B-G and W-Y of the report, be approved.

 

Reason:     To meet the statutory requirements of the School Admissions Code of Practice.
